Valencia Flooding Disrupts Football Matches

Severe flash flooding in Valencia and other parts of southeastern Spain, caused by Storm Dana, has led to multiple fatalities and major disruptions, including the postponement of several football matches. Valencia CF requested the postponement of their Copa del Rey match against Parla Escuela and their La Liga match against Real Madrid due to the extreme weather conditions and safety concerns. The Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) has postponed four Copa del Rey games as a precaution against non-essential travel. Real Madrid has expressed solidarity with those affected, supporting Valencia's decisions regarding match postponements. The city's Mestalla Stadium is being used as an emergency aid station to collect essentials for flood victims. Meanwhile, official mourning is expected to be declared by the Valencian Government once the flooding subsides.
