Shooting at Hardin County Courthouse Leaves One Dead
A shooting occurred outside the Hardin County courthouse in Elizabethtown, Kentucky, where Christopher Elder, 46, allegedly ambushed and shot three people, killing one. The deceased victim, a woman, was Elder's romantic partner, and the other two victims, a man and a woman, were her relatives. The incident happened during an emergency protective order hearing involving Elder and the deceased victim. Elder fled the scene and was tracked to western Kentucky, where he is currently in a standoff with police. Schools in the area have been placed on a 'soft lockdown' as a precaution. Two children related to the deceased victim were present during the shooting but were unharmed.
