Brighton Marathon Expects 20,000 Participants Sunday

The Brighton Marathon is set to celebrate its 15th anniversary with around 20,000 participants expected to take part, beginning at Preston Park and concluding at Hove Lawns. The event, which includes both the marathon and a 10K run, has implemented road closures starting early in the morning. Notable participants include Kristina Goodsell from 'Married at First Sight,' who is raising awareness for premenstrual dysphoric disorder, and members of the Sanctuary Runners group, which supports migrants and refugees. The marathon weekend kicked off with the Brighton Miles event aimed at fostering community engagement and inclusivity, featuring activities for all ages and abilities. Additionally, plans for a supportive app for neurodivergent participants are underway for future events. This year, over 150,000 individuals have participated in the marathon since its inception in 2010.
