Texas Man Charged with Mother's Murder

Michael Dean Davis Jr., a 27-year-old Texas man, has been arrested and charged with the murder of his missing partner, Mahogany Washington, whose remains were discovered at his property. Washington and her 8-year-old son were reported missing in July 2022, prompting an extensive investigation. The Leon County Sheriff's Office executed a search warrant on October 22, 2024, leading to the identification of the remains as belonging to Washington. Davis, who was believed to be armed and a potential threat to both his son and law enforcement, was apprehended on November 12 in Laredo, Texas. The child was found safe and is now under the care of Child Protective Services. Davis faces charges of murder and aggravated kidnapping, with a bond set at $3 million.
