Epic Games Submits Fortnite for U.S. iOS App Store Review

Epic Games has officially submitted Fortnite to the iOS App Store for review, signaling the game's imminent return to iPhones in the United States after nearly four years of absence due to a legal dispute with Apple. This return follows a significant U.S. court ruling that prohibits Apple from enforcing its traditional 15–30% commission on third-party payments, allowing developers like Epic to offer external payment options and comply with new App Store policies. Epic has circumvented its blocked U.S. developer account by submitting through its Swedish account, a strategy previously used to bring Fortnite back to European iOS devices under the EU's Digital Markets Act. Epic CEO Tim Sweeney has indicated the game could be available within the week and proposed that Epic would drop ongoing and future litigation if Apple applies the revised payment framework globally.
