Vantage Data Centers Secures $1.6B Investment for 1GW APAC Expansion

Vantage Data Centers has secured a $1.6 billion investment led by affiliates of Singapore's sovereign wealth fund GIC and the Abu Dhabi Investment Authority (ADIA) to expand its Asia-Pacific operations, including the acquisition of a hyperscale data center campus in Johor, Malaysia. The Johor campus, part of Yondr Group's portfolio recently acquired by DigitalBridge Group, will deliver over 300 megawatts of capacity and bring Vantage’s total Asia-Pacific footprint to one gigawatt. This strategic investment reflects growing regional demand for digital infrastructure driven by accelerating artificial intelligence and cloud computing needs. The Johor campus is located in the Johor-Singapore Special Economic Zone and is expected to be one of the largest data center hubs in Malaysia by 2030. Vantage’s leadership emphasized that this milestone strengthens its position as a major provider of sustainable AI and cloud digital infrastructure in the region. The acquisition and investment are expected to close in the fourth quarter of 2025, subject to customary conditions.
