BBC Scotland Axes 52-Year Good Morning Scotland for New Breakfast Show

BBC Scotland is ending its flagship morning radio programme Good Morning Scotland after more than 50 years on air, replacing it with a new show titled Radio Scotland Breakfast starting November 24. The new programme will air weekdays from 6am to 9am and will be co-hosted by Martin Geissler, previously of The Sunday Show, and Laura Maciver, a senior presenter on Reporting Scotland: News at Seven, with Phil Goodlad providing sports coverage. Current hosts Gary Robertson and Laura Maxwell are moving to other roles within BBC Scotland’s news and current affairs output, with Robertson taking over The Sunday Show and Maxwell moving to Drivetime and Lunchtime Live.
