Bose Revives Iconic 901 Speaker System

Bose is commemorating its 60th anniversary by reviving its iconic 901 speaker system, originally launched in 1968. The updated version, redesigned in collaboration with Kith's founder Ronnie Fieg and designer Mark Jupiter, features a stylish mid-century modern aesthetic and will be available in two wood finishes: whitewashed ash and natural walnut. The 901s, renowned for their innovative use of direct and reflecting sound to replicate a live concert experience, include modern enhancements like brass stems and round wooden bases. Although pricing and availability details are yet to be announced, the limited edition speakers mark Bose's return to the passive loudspeaker market, where the 901s have long been celebrated as a pinnacle of audio engineering. Fieg noted that the original design was a result of Dr. Bose's vision for exceptional home audio. This revival highlights Bose's legacy in audio innovation while appealing to contemporary design sensibilities.
