Lainey Wilson Releases New Song Somewhere Over Laredo

Lainey Wilson has released her new single "Somewhere Over Laredo," which creatively interpolates the classic "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" with a Texas country twist, capturing themes of romance and longing. The song, co-written by Wilson and collaborators, features a piano-driven, atmospheric sound distinct from her earlier, more upbeat work, and tells the story of a protagonist reflecting on a past relationship while flying over Laredo. Wilson teased the song extensively on social media prior to its release and debuted it live around the time of the 2025 ACM Awards, where she won Entertainer of the Year and other honors. "Somewhere Over Laredo" will be sent to radio and is part of the deluxe edition of her album "Whirlwind," set to release in August.
