Spirit Airlines expands nonstop routes for Kentucky Derby, Birmingham

Spirit Airlines is enhancing travel options for the upcoming Kentucky Derby by adding limited-time nonstop flights to Louisville from Houston and Newark, along with increased service to Orlando and Tampa, starting May 1. In addition, they will resume seasonal flights from Louisville to Los Angeles on the same date and launch new service to Myrtle Beach on March 19. Meanwhile, Spirit is also expanding its operations in Birmingham, Alabama, with a new seasonal nonstop route to Newark Liberty International Airport set to begin on June 4, 2025, highlighting the airline's commitment to the community. Birmingham Airport officials noted a 6% rise in passenger traffic in 2024, supporting the need for more flights. Spirit Airlines emphasizes its low-fare options and convenience for travelers, as the airline continues to grow its network across various cities.
