NBA YoungBoy Sentenced on Gun and Drug Charges

Rapper NBA YoungBoy, real name Kentrell Gaulden, has been sentenced to 23 months in federal prison followed by five years of probation after pleading guilty to gun possession charges. These charges stem from a 2020 arrest in Baton Rouge while filming a music video, where he was found with a Glock 21 .45-caliber pistol and a Masterpiece Arms MPA30T 9mm handgun. Additionally, a separate gun-related charge was filed in Utah, where he was also involved in a prescription drug fraud case. Gaulden has been serving time in Utah since May, potentially reducing his remaining sentence. The legal saga spans multiple jurisdictions, with Gaulden facing initial potential sentences of up to 15 years. The plea deal also includes fines and conditions for substance abuse treatment and mental health evaluations.
