AMC Stubs A-List Increases Subscription Price, Expands Movie Access

AMC Theatres is increasing the price of its Stubs A-List monthly membership from May 7, with rates rising to $27.99 in major markets like New York and California, and $25.99 elsewhere. The subscription will now allow members to see four movies per week instead of three, and the minimum age requirement to join will be lowered to 13 years old. AMC is also introducing a new, more affordable membership option, AMC Stubs A-List Classic, priced at $14.95 per month for one movie per week. AMC CEO Adam Aron emphasized that despite the price hike, the A-List membership remains a cost-effective option compared to purchasing individual tickets for two or more movies each month. Existing benefits, such as access to premium formats and no additional fees for online reservations, will continue to be available. This change comes as AMC aims to attract more moviegoers back to theaters post-pandemic.
