Nebraska, Oklahoma Teams Aid Texas Flood Recovery

Nebraska Task Force One and Oklahoma Task Force One have returned home after spending over two weeks in Texas assisting with recovery and search operations following historic flooding that claimed more than 130 lives. Nebraska's 45-member team worked up to 14 miles a day along the Guadalupe River, clearing debris and searching for missing persons while providing support to affected families. Oklahoma Task Force One focused on water rescues and later search and recovery efforts, helping reduce the number of missing individuals from 160 to just three. Both teams faced extreme heat and challenging terrain, describing the mission as physically and emotionally demanding. They emphasized the importance of their work in bringing closure to families and expressed gratitude for the camaraderie among responders. The efforts highlight the critical role of interstate cooperation during national disasters.
