Florida Woman Charged With Threatening Insurer

Briana Boston, a 42-year-old woman from Lakeland, Florida, was arrested for allegedly threatening a BlueCross BlueShield employee during a phone call, using the phrase 'Delay, Deny, Depose,' which is linked to the recent murder of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson. At the end of the call regarding her denied medical claim, Boston reportedly said, 'You people are next,' prompting the FBI to inform local police. The phrase found on bullet casings at Thompson's murder scene has gained notoriety as a criticism of insurance companies. When confronted by police, Boston acknowledged her statements, claimed they were inspired by current news, and expressed frustrations over healthcare practices, asserting she was not a danger and did not own firearms. Despite her claims, she was charged with threats to conduct a mass shooting or act of terrorism. Boston remains in custody, with her next court date set for January 14.
