Mattel Honors Rita Moreno with Barbie Doll

Ahead of her 93rd birthday, Rita Moreno is being honored with a Barbie doll from Mattel as part of the Barbie Tribute Collection, which celebrates influential women. The doll, inspired by Moreno's iconic black and gold gown worn at the 1962 Oscars, features her likeness and includes accessories like opera gloves and statement earrings. As a trailblazer in Hollywood, Moreno is recognized for breaking barriers for Latina actresses and is one of only 21 performers to achieve EGOT status (Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, and Tony Awards). Mattel collaborated closely with Moreno on the doll's design, reflecting her advocacy for representation and inclusion in the entertainment industry. Moreno expressed hope that the doll will inspire young girls to pursue their dreams with courage and resilience. The Rita Moreno Barbie doll will be available for purchase starting November 20.
