A 9-week-old kitten, now named Wharf, was rescued from a steep embankment below a boardwalk in Fall River, Massachusetts. A couple walking near The Cove Restaurant and Marina heard the kitten's cries and contacted the Animal Rescue League of Boston (ARL). The ARL, with assistance from Fall River Animal Control, used a humane cat trap filled with food to safely retrieve Wharf after about 40 minutes. Wharf was transported to the ARL’s Boston Animal Care and Adoption Center for a veterinary exam, where he was found to be in good health despite being hungry and frightened. The kitten has since been adopted into a new home. The ARL expressed gratitude towards the Good Samaritans and Fall River Animal Control for their help in the rescue.
