Supreme Court Criticizes Andhra CM on Ghee Claims

The Supreme Court has criticized Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu for making public statements about alleged adulteration in Tirupati laddu prasadam before any formal investigation was conducted. The court noted that Naidu's comments, suggesting the use of animal fat, were made even before an FIR was lodged and an SIT was constituted, affecting the sentiments of millions of devotees. APCC President Y.S. Sharmila welcomed the court's observations and reiterated the call for a CBI investigation to uncover the truth. Former minister Vellampalli Srinivas Rao demanded an apology from Naidu, stating that the ghee used was not adulterated according to government lawyers. The Supreme Court emphasized the need to keep religion out of politics and questioned the necessity of Naidu's premature allegations. The court has asked for proof and further investigation into the matter to ensure accountability.
