Oklahoma AG Announces Transparency Seminar Dates
Oklahoma Attorney General Gentner Drummond's office is partnering with the Oklahoma Press Association to offer free seminars on the state's open meetings and public records laws beginning Oct. 27, running 1–4 p.m. at four locations: Oct. 27 at Tulsa Technology Center Riverside Campus (Tulsa), Nov. 3 at Sam Noble Museum Auditorium (Norman), Nov. 17 at Meridian Technology Center Auditorium (Stillwater), and Dec. 15 at Oklahoma Judicial Center Auditorium (Oklahoma City). Deputy General Counsel Thomas R. Schneider will lead the sessions, review officials' responsibilities, explain access requirements for public records, and answer questions. The seminars are free but require pre-registration due to high demand, and attendees can earn continuing education credits: three CLE hours for attorneys, three credit hours for new school board and technology center board members from the relevant state departments, and three hours for law enforcement from CLEET. Drummond said the training supports openness and transparency and helps ensure public officials act with honesty and integrity.
