Alfonso Cuarón's Animated Short Premieres on Disney+

Disney+ is set to premiere Alfonso Cuarón's animated short film 'An Almost Christmas Story' this fall, marking the final installment in his holiday shorts collection. The story follows Moon, a young owl who becomes trapped in a Christmas tree headed for Rockefeller Plaza, and his journey with a lost girl named Luna as they navigate the bustling city and discover the magic of the holiday season. The film is inspired by the true story of Rocky, an owl rescued from the Rockefeller Center Christmas tree in 2020. The voice cast includes Cary Christopher as Moon, Estella Madrigal as Luna, and John C. Reilly as The Folk Singer, who will perform four songs, including two originals. Directed by David Lowery and produced by Cuarón, the film showcases a talented creative team and animation services by 88 Pictures. Cuarón's previous holiday shorts, 'Le Pupille' and 'The Shepherd,' received critical acclaim, with the former earning an Oscar nomination.
