A 35-year-old man was arrested for damaging the Angel of Harmony statue outside the Cathedral Basilica in St. Louis using a boom lift. Installed in 1999, the 14-foot stainless steel sculpture features a Black angel with wind chime wings protecting multi-cultural children. The vandal was spotted tampering with construction equipment and firing a gunshot at a parked car. Police identified the suspect from surveillance footage and apprehended him using a K-9 unit after a brief chase. Church leaders hope the statue, which symbolizes peace and racial harmony, can be restored. The motive for the vandalism remains unknown.
