Greeley Social Studies Teacher Stephen Paulson Named Colorado 2026 Teacher of the Year

Stephen Paulson, a social studies teacher at Greeley Central High School, has been named Colorado's 2026 Teacher of the Year, marking the first time the award has gone to someone from the Greeley-Evans school district. Paulson, who has taught for 11 years, leads the school's Advancement Via Individual Determination (AVID) program, helping many first-generation students prepare for college and careers, and has initiated mentorship and community service projects. He was selected from 419 applicants and will receive a $5,000 check from the Boettcher Foundation, attend NASA space camp, and represent Colorado in the National Teacher of the Year competition.
