Scott, Trusty Convicted for 2022 Murder of Philadelphia Sanitation Worker

Two men, Nushar Scott and Rasheen Trusty, have been convicted for their roles in the murder of 35-year-old Ikeem Johnson, a sanitation worker killed in Philadelphia on November 18, 2022. Scott was found guilty of first-degree murder and conspiracy, while Trusty was convicted of third-degree murder and conspiracy for driving Scott to and from the crime scene. Prosecutors presented DNA evidence, cell site location data, and surveillance footage linking the men to the shooting, where Scott fired 28 shots, hitting Johnson 15 times. Philadelphia District Attorney Larry Krasner emphasized the importance of the convictions for Johnson's family and the community. Scott is facing a life sentence without parole, while Trusty is scheduled for sentencing in June. Johnson's mother spoke out against gun violence, urging others to reconsider their choices.
