53-Year-Old Bicyclist Killed by SUV Crossing Road Line in Highland Township, Michigan

Todd Michael Luark, a 53-year-old man from Highland Township, died after being struck by a 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee while riding his bicycle southbound on South Milford Road near Rowe Road. The Jeep, driven by a 45-year-old Farmington Hills man, crossed over a solid white line at the edge of the roadway and hit Luark. First responders found Luark unconscious in a nearby driveway and performed CPR, but he was pronounced dead at the scene. An autopsy was scheduled, and the Oakland County Sheriff's Office Crash Reconstruction Unit is investigating the incident. This crash marks the third fatal bicycle-vehicle collision in the area within about a week. The investigation remains ongoing, and it is unclear if the Jeep driver will face any charges.
