Nepal Gen Z Protests Leave 34 Dead, Prompt Prime Minister Resignation

Nepal has witnessed one of its largest youth-led uprisings in history, driven by Gen Z's frustration over corruption, unemployment, and political mismanagement. The movement, inspired in part by social media exposure of privileged politicians' families, culminated in massive protests involving around 14 million participants demanding an end to entrenched corruption and a political overhaul. A prominent figure in this revolt is 16-year-old Avishkar Raut, whose fiery speeches and leadership during demonstrations have made him a symbol of youth defiance and hope for systemic change. The protests forced the resignation of Prime Minister KP Oli, leaving a power vacuum and highlighting the declining legitimacy of Nepal's traditional political elite.
