Body of Missing Skater Found in Woodstock Bay

Gregory Garmer, a 78-year-old man from Duluth, was found dead after falling through the ice on Woodstock Bay. Garmer went missing Sunday afternoon after leaving home to go ice skating and was last seen around 1 p.m. Authorities initiated a search that involved multiple agencies, including the St. Louis County Rescue Squad and the Minnesota State Patrol, which provided a helicopter for the search. The Douglas County Sheriff's Office requested public assistance in reviewing camera footage from the area. His body was discovered at approximately 4 p.m. Monday. Woodstock Bay has recently gained attention following the completion of a waterfront park.
