Robbie Williams Cancels Istanbul Concert Over Terror Fears

Robbie Williams has cancelled his October 7 Istanbul concert at Atakoy Marina after city authorities called off the show citing public safety amid terror fears, security risks and potential public backlash. The date coincides with the second anniversary of the Hamas attacks on Israel, and reports say concerns were partly linked to Williams’ past pro‑Israel remarks and his family’s Turkish and Jewish connections. Williams apologised on Instagram, saying he was “extremely sorry,” that fan safety comes first, and that playing Istanbul as the final BRITPOP tour date was now beyond his control. Organisers and local media pointed to security risks and backlash as reasons for the cancellation, and travel advice currently warns against all travel to parts of Turkey. Williams has also pushed back the BRITPOP album release to February 6, 2026.
