Historic Preservation Events Engage Multiple U.S. Communities

Several upcoming events and sites offer unique opportunities to experience and celebrate local history. In Akron, Progress Through Preservation is hosting Dining in Akron History, a fundraiser featuring elegant dinners in seven historic homes, including tours and discussions of each property's past. Southern Ocean County will hold the 43rd annual Old Time Barnegat Bay Decoy and Gunning Show, showcasing over 200 vendors, contests, live music, and free admission exhibitions at the Tuckerton Seaport and Tip Seaman County Park. Indiana's Mound State Park presents ancient earthworks built by the Hopewell and Adena cultures, with hiking trails, wildlife exhibits, and historic preservation efforts by the Braunenberg family. In New York, the Williamson-Pultneyville Historical Society offers a free Talk & Walk event exploring 200 years of architectural heritage in the hamlet of Pultneyville, including an illustrated talk and walking tour of historic sites.
