John Young, a 50-year resident of Marshall County, brings 30 years of public service experience, including roles as Chief Investigator of the Marshall County District Attorney’s Office and Assistant Chief Deputy in the Marshall County Sheriff’s Office, along with business leadership as president of a software development company. Young began his career as a patrol officer with the Albertville Police Department in 1978, later joining the sheriff’s office before moving into the private sector and then returning to public service in 1994. Governor Ivey praised Young’s integrity and passion for public service, expressing confidence in his ability to lead the commission. Young expressed gratitude for the support he received and pledged to serve the citizens of Marshall County professionally. His appointment is effective immediately.
