Woman Killed in Apache Junction Police SUV Collision

A woman was struck and killed by a Hayden Police Department SUV on U.S. 60 near Silly Mountain Road in Apache Junction early on July 28, resulting in a multi-hour closure of eastbound lanes near Mountain View Road. The pedestrian reportedly ran into the roadway in front of the marked police vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene; her identity has not been released.
