Defense Attorney Arrested in Drug Smuggling Case

Nathan Williams, a Florida criminal defense attorney, was arrested for allegedly smuggling drug-soaked paperwork into Duval County Jail. This arrest is part of 'Operation Stamp Collection,' an ongoing investigation by the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office aimed at curbing drug flow into the facility. Williams reportedly used his professional access to coordinate with inmates and their families, exchanging the papers laced with synthetic marijuana, ADB-PINACA, for money. The operation, which began in February 2024, has led to a reduction in overdoses by 61% and resulted in 21 arrests so far. Authorities believe Williams thought he could evade detection, but changes in jail policies and thorough investigations led to his apprehension. Further arrests are anticipated as the investigation continues.
