The Pima County Sheriff's Department has made progress in a 12-year-old cold case involving the remains of a man identified as Frederick Dale Huddleston, discovered in Tucson in 2012. A genealogy search conducted by the FBI confirmed Huddleston's identity, and the department is now seeking public assistance for leads on his homicide, urging anyone with information to come forward. In addition, the Sheriff's Department is launching a Cold Case Briefing Program to address approximately 180 unresolved homicides, aiming to engage the community and reassure families that their cases remain a priority. Monthly briefings will focus on cases from the 1950s to the early 2000s, reinforcing the department's commitment to these investigations. Sheriff Chris Nanos emphasized the importance of not forgetting these cases and actively involving the community in solving them. A news conference is scheduled to provide updates on the Huddleston case and introduce the new cold case initiative.
