Genesis Launches Racing Division Genesis Magma Racing

Genesis has officially launched its motorsport division, Genesis Magma Racing, aiming to compete in the World Endurance Championship (WEC) starting in 2026 and the IMSA SportsCar Championship in 2027. The newly unveiled GMR-001 Hypercar, designed under the leadership of Luc Donckerwolke, showcases the brand's Athletic Elegance design philosophy and incorporates key design elements from its road cars. Team Principal Cyril Abiteboul will lead a talented driver lineup, including FIA Hypercar World Endurance champion André Lotterer and IMSA veteran Luis 'Pipo' Derani, who will focus on car development and simulator training. In preparation for these competitions, Genesis will also field an LMP2 team in the 2025 European Le Mans Series. The racing initiative is part of a broader strategy to enhance brand visibility and establish Genesis within the luxury performance automotive market. This move aligns with the longstanding motorsport maxim of 'win on Sunday, sell on Monday,' as Genesis seeks to redefine its luxury image through racing success.
