Kingfisher Leisure Centre pool reopens after six-month repairs

The Kingfisher Leisure Centre in Sudbury, Suffolk, will reopen its swimming pool after a six-month closure due to damage from a broken glass roof panel. The pool's reopening, initially delayed, is set for Saturday for casual swimming, with a full program of lessons resuming on Monday, coinciding with half-term. Babergh District Council confirmed that while external maintenance will continue, it will not affect the reopening schedule. The council's cabinet member, Laura Smith, expressed gratitude for the community's patience and emphasized the importance of safety during repairs. Notably, the wave machine will no longer operate after the reopening. Abbeycroft, the organization managing the centre, has also extended apologies for the inconvenience caused during the closure.
