North Texas, Oklahoma Seize Thousands Pounds Marijuana in Multiple Busts

Several significant drug busts occurred recently across multiple states involving marijuana and other controlled substances. In Lewisville, Texas, a traffic stop for expired registration and no insurance led to the discovery of 285 pounds of marijuana hidden in a vehicle's sealed compartment, resulting in the driver's arrest. Similarly, in North Carolina, a semitrailer truck was stopped on Interstate 80, where deputies found 135 pounds of marijuana and 117 pounds of psilocybin mushrooms, leading to felony charges against the driver. In Virginia, a traffic stop uncovered a concealed firearm and psilocybin mushrooms, with the driver charged with multiple offenses including possession of a Schedule I controlled substance. Meanwhile, in Ardmore, Oklahoma, authorities seized over 5,400 marijuana plants and 195 pounds of processed marijuana during a raid on an illegal grow operation, part of ongoing efforts that have shut down thousands of such farms since 2021.
