Actor Mala Parvathy Evades Virtual Arrest Scam

Actor Mala Parvathy narrowly escaped a virtual kidnapping scam involving fraudsters posing as Mumbai police officers. The scammers claimed her Aadhaar card was used to send an illegal package to Taiwan, and during a nearly hour-long call, they presented fake ID cards and detailed false accusations involving drugs. While in Madurai for a film shoot, Parvathy received the call from a man identifying himself as Vikram Singh, who provided alarming details about the supposed illegal activity. She became suspicious after noting the absence of the Ashoka emblem on the ID card and verified the information online. Her manager's intervention helped her recognize the trap before any money was exchanged, and the scammers disconnected when her executive producer took over the call. Parvathy has yet to file a police report regarding the incident.
