A fire erupted at the ARETE International building, Nepal's first Tesla service showroom located in Kathmandu, around noon on Friday, causing damage to properties and documents but sparing the vehicles. The fire started on the ground floor and spread to the first floor before being extinguished with the help of local fire services. Indra Subedi, Deputy Superintendent of Police, confirmed that the blaze was likely caused by a short-circuit in the electrical wiring, and two Tesla cars were safely moved to a secure location during the incident. Parts and documents were scattered across the showroom, but no vehicles were harmed. An investigation into the fire's cause is currently underway. The incident highlights safety concerns related to electric vehicle service facilities in the region.
