Brewers Recall Monasterio, Hudson; Designate Capra for Assignment

The Milwaukee Brewers have designated infielder Vinny Capra for assignment following a severe slump, as he batted just .074 with a .121 on-base percentage in 24 games this season despite a strong Spring Training. Capra, who is out of minor league options, cannot be sent to the minors without clearing waivers. To fill the roster spots, the Brewers recalled infielder Andruw Monasterio and left-handed pitcher Bryan Hudson from Triple-A Nashville. Monasterio, who has major league experience primarily at third and second base, was hitting .250 with a .346 on-base percentage in Triple-A and has a career .243 average in the majors. Hudson, who had a strong 2024 season with a 1.73 ERA, was recalled after posting a 4.15 ERA in 11 appearances this season. These moves come as the Brewers aim to improve their underwhelming 19-19 start to the 2025 season.
