Stellantis Overhauls Management, CEO to Retire in 2026

Stellantis, the multinational automaker behind brands like Jeep, Chrysler, and Dodge, is undergoing a significant management overhaul amid financial struggles and competition from Chinese manufacturers. CEO Carlos Tavares will retire in early 2026, and Doug Ostermann is set to replace Natalie Knight as Chief Financial Officer. Antonio Filosa will take over as Chief Operating Officer for North America, while Jean-Philippe Imparato and Gregoire Olivier are appointed COOs for Europe and China respectively. These changes are part of a strategic effort to address declining sales, especially in North America, and to manage an inventory surplus of high-end vehicles. The company aims to improve its U.S. operations by reducing dealer inventories and responding to stakeholder pressures. Stellantis has already begun searching for Tavares' successor, led by a special committee of the board.
