Ron Perlman, Former WildBrain Execs Launch Fan-Funded TV Film Platform

Ron Perlman, alongside former WildBrain executives Michael Donovan and Dana Landry, and tech entrepreneur Willie Morris, has launched Watrfall, a new creator-led, fan-focused crowdfunding platform for film and television. Watrfall allows fans to invest financially in projects, vote on which productions get funded, and actively participate in the creative process while providing transparent access to financials. The platform operates as a Regulation Crowdfunding entity, enabling investors to receive 100% of net profits from the initial slate of projects and 5% of platform profits in perpetuity. Creators retain full creative control while gaining support to manage funding and monetization, aiming to realign the entertainment value chain by empowering both creators and fans. The platform also utilizes decentralized technology for data management and security, enhancing transparency and control. Watrfall officially opens for public investment on August 22, marking a new model of shared power and participation in entertainment production.
