Israel Enforces Gaza Evacuations Using Grenade-Firing Drones
Israel is employing Chinese-manufactured commercial drones armed with hand grenades to forcibly expel Palestinians from Gaza, targeting civilians intentionally to prevent their return, according to an investigation by +972 Magazine. Defense Minister Israel Katz announced a plan to transfer some 600,000 Palestinians to a so-called 'humanitarian city' in Rafah, which rights organizations like Euro-Med Human Rights Monitor and Amnesty International condemn as a form of ethnic cleansing, unlawful forced transfer, and a violation of international humanitarian law. Amnesty International characterized the plan as a declared intent to commit war crimes and crimes against humanity, urging global actors to avoid supporting such transfers. Professor Ralph Wilde of international law has also stated that the US-Israel plan to forcibly displace Palestinians from Gaza or the West Bank would be illegal. Meanwhile, President Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu met in Washington amid indirect US-backed talks in Qatar aimed at negotiating a 60-day ceasefire, discussing the ongoing conflict and the contentious issue of Palestinian displacement. Despite efforts toward ceasefire, disagreement remains over the conditions for ending the war, with Hamas demanding full Israeli withdrawal and prisoner releases, while Netanyahu insists on Hamas's surrender and disarmament.
