Maruti Suzuki Signs MoU with JETRO to Boost India-Japan Startup Collaboration

Maruti Suzuki India Limited has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) to foster collaboration between Indian and Japanese startups by providing access to each other's innovation ecosystems. This partnership aims to create new business opportunities, particularly in mobility, technology, and manufacturing sectors, by enabling startups from India to enter the Japanese market and vice versa. The MoU includes facilitating participation in events, networking, and connecting startups with relevant partners, with eligibility extended to participants in Maruti Suzuki's four flagship innovation programs: Accelerator, Incubation, Mobility Challenge, and Nurture. Maruti Suzuki's CEO Hisashi Takeuchi highlighted the role of startups as key drivers of innovation and economic growth, while JETRO India Chief Director General Takashi Suzuki emphasized the MoU's potential to deepen Indo-Japanese ties and boost economic growth. This initiative aligns with India's 'Make in India' and 'Startup India' initiatives and builds on Maruti Suzuki's ongoing efforts in supporting startups through its innovation programs.
