Matthew and Camila McConaughey have been named godparents of Princess Cruises' newest ship, the Star Princess, continuing a tradition that includes cultural icons like Princess Diana and Audrey Hepburn. The couple will christen the 4,300-guest ship in a ceremony on November 6, 2025, in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, just before its inaugural Caribbean voyage. Star Princess, a 177,800-ton vessel with 30 distinct dining and entertainment venues, debuted in Barcelona in October 2025 before relocating seasonally to Port Everglades. The McConaugheys, co-founders of Pantalones Organic Tequila—which is served aboard the fleet—expressed pride in contributing to the ship's spirit of bringing families and friends together to make lasting memories. Princess Cruises president Gus Antorcha praised the couple for embodying the warmth, passion, and generosity that align with the cruise line's values.
