St. Augustine Doctor Jailed for Prescriptions-for-Sex Scheme

Scott Hollington, a St. Augustine doctor, has been sentenced to 12 years in federal prison for 14 counts of unlawfully distributing controlled substances and five counts of obstructing justice. The conviction follows a DEA investigation, prompted by a tip, revealing that Hollington exchanged narcotic prescriptions for sexual favors at his addiction clinic. Five undercover DEA officers visited the clinic between February and July 2022, obtaining 17 prescriptions without legitimate medical needs, including drugs like Adderall and Xanax. Hollington admitted to disregarding urine drug screening results and skipped necessary medical procedures, while also altering medical records to obstruct justice. Over 30 women accused him of sexual misconduct, with victims describing him as a 'monster' taking advantage of their vulnerability during their treatment. The DEA's operation was supported by the St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office and other law enforcement agencies.
