Former LSU, Ole Miss QB Walker Howard Named Louisiana Starting Quarterback
Walker Howard, a former LSU and Ole Miss quarterback, has been named the starting quarterback for the Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns. He will make his first collegiate start against Rice on August 30. Howard was highly regarded coming out of high school as the No. 3 dual-threat quarterback in the 2022 recruiting class. He began his college career at LSU, backing up top quarterbacks, then transferred to Ole Miss where he appeared in a limited number of games before moving to Louisiana. His transfer to Louisiana marks a return to his hometown, Lafayette, where he won two state titles in high school. Howard earned the starting role over other quarterbacks Lunch Winfield and Daniel Beale.
