Stephen Miller emerges as leading candidate for National Security Advisor

Stephen Miller, currently serving as President Trump's Homeland Security Advisor and known as a principal architect of the administration's immigration policies, has emerged as the leading contender to replace Mike Waltz as National Security Advisor. Waltz was recently removed from the NSA position and nominated as U.S. ambassador to the United Nations, with Secretary of State Marco Rubio serving as interim NSA but reportedly too busy to handle both roles long-term. Miller is considered one of Trump's most trusted aides, and sources highlight his effective management of the Homeland Security Council, which has garnered internal praise for its efficiency compared to the National Security Council. Several sources suggest that Miller's close working relationship with Rubio, especially on immigration, positions him well for the NSA role. There is internal support for restoring the NSA to a staff-level policy position reporting to the chief of staff, an arrangement Miller is seen as well-suited for.
