Michigan Man Charged with Domestic Violence, Impersonation

John Dominick Bromley, a 74-year-old man, was charged with aggravated domestic violence and first-degree vulnerable adult abuse after a lengthy investigation by Michigan State Police into the death of his 68-year-old wife. The couple was found squatting in a cabin in Otsego County in June 2024, where officers observed the wife with extensive bruising and breathing difficulties. She later died in the hospital after disclosing a history of abuse. Bromley allegedly attempted to access the morgue where her body was held by impersonating a state trooper but was denied entry. Following the investigation and an autopsy, an arrest warrant was issued, and Bromley was apprehended during a traffic stop in February 2025. He faces additional charges for impersonating an officer in Grand Traverse County.
