North Fort Myers Red Knights Defeat IMG in Thrilling Basketball Match

The Knights of Columbus held their annual free throw competition in Marietta, allowing local youth aged nine to thirteen to demonstrate their basketball skills and compete for regional and state opportunities. Event Activities Director Vince Stollar emphasized the importance of the event in keeping kids active during winter, noting that it has been a community tradition for decades. Participants take 25 shots, and in the event of a tie, a sudden-death shootout determines the winner. This year, the competition attracted 20-30 entrants across various age groups, with winners receiving medals and advancing to further competitions. Notable winners included Chloe Choleva in the nine-year-old girls' category and Matthew Cunningham in the thirteen-year-old boys' category. The competition serves not only as a sports event but also as a way to engage youth in physical activity during the colder months.
