Police Conduct Major Drug Trafficking Operations in India

In Homa Bay County, Rodi Police are pursuing drug traffickers who escaped arrest during a raid where they abandoned eight sacks of cannabis. The operation was initiated based on a tip-off regarding a suspicious vehicle, which fled upon police arrival. Meanwhile, in Guwahati, a police task force arrested a truck driver, Rananjay Mandal, and seized heroin valued at over Rs 4 crore during a raid at Jorabat. Additional operations in Assam led to the recovery of over half a kilogram of heroin and the arrest of four individuals from a vehicle coming from Mizoram. Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma praised the police for their proactive measures against drug trafficking in the region. The ongoing operations across various states underscore the intensified efforts to combat the growing narcotics trade in India.
