In a dramatic final stage on the iconic Alpe d'Huez, Niewiadoma finished fourth while Vollering, who began the day eighth overall, won the stage but fell short in the overall standings. Niewiadoma's emotional victory came after a challenging climb, and she expressed disbelief at her achievement.
