Jonathan Trott's Coaching Contract Extended to 2025

Jonathan Trott has been confirmed to continue as the head coach of Afghanistan's cricket team until the end of 2025, following a successful two-and-a-half-year tenure. Under his leadership, Afghanistan achieved notable milestones, including a semifinal appearance at the 2024 T20 World Cup and victories over cricketing giants like England and Pakistan during the 2023 ODI World Cup, which secured their place in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. Trott's coaching record includes winning 14 of 34 ODIs and 20 of 44 T20Is. He will oversee the team's tour of Zimbabwe but will miss some matches due to personal commitments, with Hamid Hassan stepping in as head coach during his absence.
